Terms of Use
1. Agreement
These Terms govern access to zephread.com and any Zephread Early Access software made available through the official site or repository. By using them, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the software or site.
2. Operator and contact
Zephread is currently an independently operated software project. Questions about these Terms may be sent to contact@zephread.com.
3. Early Access
Early Access software is unfinished and may contain errors, lose settings, change behavior or become unavailable. Keep independent backups of important files and annotations and do not rely on Zephread as the only copy of any information.
4. Permission to use
Subject to these Terms, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to install and use an official Zephread build for lawful purposes. No ownership rights are transferred. Separate open-source notices, if published, control the components they cover.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use Zephread or the site to violate law, infringe rights, distribute malware, bypass security, interfere with the service, misrepresent affiliation, automate abusive requests or attempt unauthorized access. You remain responsible for files you open and for having the right to use them.
6. Your files and feedback
You retain rights in your files and highlights. The current local-first application does not require uploading them to us. If you voluntarily provide product feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, but this does not give us ownership of your unrelated content.
7. Availability, updates and changes
We may add, remove or modify features, supported formats, system requirements and availability; suspend an unsafe build; or discontinue Early Access. We do not promise a particular release date for any platform or uninterrupted access to the site.
8. Price and future services
The current Early Access offer is free. This is not a promise that all future versions, licenses or continuing services will be free. Any future paid offer will disclose its price and applicable terms before purchase.
9. Downloads and third-party services
Use only downloads linked from zephread.com or the official GitHub repository and verify published checksums. Cloudflare, GitHub, Zoho and other linked services operate under their own terms and privacy notices; we are not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
10. Intellectual property
Zephread names, branding, website design, documentation and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited permission above or a separate license, you may not copy, sell, redistribute, reverse engineer where prohibited, or create misleading derivative branding. Mandatory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site and Early Access software are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or error-free results. Nothing excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zephread will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary loss, or loss of data, profits or business arising from use of Early Access software. Any liability that cannot be excluded is limited only to the extent the law permits.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Zephread at any time. We may restrict access to the website or official downloads where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance or material breach of these Terms. Provisions intended by their nature to survive will remain effective.
14. Applicable law and disputes
Mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring claims in your home jurisdiction are not displaced. Otherwise, disputes are governed by the law applicable to the operator, excluding conflict-of-law rules, and should first be raised at contact@zephread.com so the parties can attempt an informal resolution.
15. Changes and severability
We may update these Terms for product, security or legal changes. The updated date identifies the current version. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
